Man arrested with 15 rolls of bhang
A man has been arrested after police found him with 15 rolls of bhang during a patrol operation in Nyahururu, Laikipia County.
According to a statement released by the National Police Service (NPS) on Thursday, December 4, 2025, officers from Nyahururu Police Station were on a routine patrol in the Bagation area near Laikipia High School when they intercepted a man who was found carrying rolls of cannabis.

The individual was arrested at the scene and taken to Nyahururu Police Station for processing.
Police secured the recovered rolls as exhibits as they began legal procedures against the person of interest. NPS noted that the patrol was part of ongoing efforts to curb drug possession and distribution in the region.
The service emphasised its continued commitment to fighting drug abuse and trafficking, saying these activities pose risks to public health, safety, and overall social well-being. They added that such targeted operations play a key role in protecting communities, especially young people, from the dangers linked to illicit drugs.

NPS stated that it will continue to work closely with local authorities to ensure that areas vulnerable to drug circulation remain under strict surveillance as part of its wider mission to promote safety across the country.
“A patrol operation by officers from Nyahururu Police Station has produced a positive result in the ongoing effort against drug possession and distribution in Laikipia County. During a routine patrol in the Bagation area near Laikipia High School, police officers intercepted and arrested a male suspect found in possession of 15 rolls of suspected cannabis. The suspect was taken to Nyahururu Police Station, where the recovered substance was secured as an exhibit pending further legal action,” NPS stated.

Such operations remain integral to safeguarding communities, particularly the youth, from the dangers associated with illicit drugs.”
