Kenya’s viral couple, popular social media personality and artiste Stanley, widely known as VJ Patelo and his new wife, Diana, in a revealing moment during their interview with Oga Obinna on Monday, July 28, 2025, shared their ages, sparking reactions online.
Patelo disclosed he is 26 years old, while he proudly stated that his wife is 29 years old.
The revelation came as part of a broader conversation about their high-profile wedding and personal journey. Their glamorous ceremony, one that included a limousine convoy, an upscale venue in Limuru, and opulent styling, has already stirred widespread discussion across Kenyan social media platforms
“Mimi niko 26 years na yeye ako 29 years,” Patelo disclosed.
Fame
Their lavish street‑fairytale‑themed wedding quickly gained momentum, propelling them to sudden fame.
The wedding, which redefined Kenyan cultural norms, was held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Naiposha Gardens in Limuru and carried an eye‑watering price tag.
Patelo said that they had spent Ksh 500 million on their lavish wedding.
“Hiyo wedding imecost kitu kama Ksh 500 million,” he said.
When asked what drove the high cost, Patelo explained that it included catering, vehicles, venue, food, guest arrangements, car convoys, décor, photography, invitation materials, banners, rings, attire, and an imported cake.
According to the Arbantone star, they said they had spent Ksh 1.5 million on the combined set of the wedding ring.
“The cars, the venue, the food, the guests, the cars that we used, the set-up, decorations, cameramen, initiation cards and the banners,” he explained.
“Hiyo cake haikuwa normal; cake ilikuwa imported from Dubai. Wedding ring: Ksh 500,000 gold ring; ya Diana pia ni gold hizi zote zilicost Ksh 1.5 million.”
Love story
The couple began their journey together in Kiambu two years ago.
Although they come from different backgrounds, the couple have not allowed their upbringing to define their love life.
Diana grew up in Fedha Estate, Embakasi East, while Patelo said he cannot point to one exact neighbourhood where he was raised because his childhood was spread across different parts of Eastlands.
“She actually grew up in Fedha Pipeline. Lavington is just where she lives now. She is also a ghetto girl. She was raised in Fedha. I am now managing her real estate business,” Patelo disclosed.
“I cannot say I was born or raised in one exact place here in Nairobi. I have grown up everywhere across Eastlands. I have lived in Kiamaiko, Dandora, Buruburu, and almost every side. Even my schooling was scattered all over. If you go to Kayole, I have memories there, too, everywhere. But currently, I live in Utawala with my beautiful wife,” he stated.
