Tom Daktari flaunts his multimillion mansion, shuts down claims it looks like a hotel

Comedian Andrew Wambua Mboya, alias Tom Daktari, has given fans a rare view of his sleek multimillion-shilling mansion and responded sharply to naysayers who have compared its features to those of a hotel. 

In a video shared on his YouTube channel on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, the comedian revealed little-known aspects of his home, including an expansive lobby where dining tables had been neatly arranged, and took the opportunity to address critics who have mischaracterised his residence.

The video tour highlighted the modern design of the mansion, featuring a flat roof and wide windows that flood the interior with natural light, complemented by polished marble tiles that add a touch of elegance. 

One of the most talked-about areas was the spacious balcony lobby, meticulously set up with tables reminiscent of a restaurant’s dining area, which some viewers had likened to a hotel setting.

Tom was quick to dismiss such comparisons, making it clear that his home is a private residence, not a commercial establishment. 

This came after he hosted his close friends, including Sammy Kioko, who were quick to share their differing thoughts about the mansion, albeit on a light note. 

Kioko particularly remarked that he could not tell whether he was in someone’s home or a restaurant nestled in the middle of nowhere, insisting that the outdoor seating area, arranged like a restaurant, gave him that impression.

“This house is inspired by a hotel just because it looks like one. We came here, but this is just a hotel. This is an art cafe. It also has the assembly place where people can gather in case of an emergency. This is a countryside art cafe,” Kioko said.

Countering the remarks, an elated Tom clarified the technical aspects of the home’s features, explaining that the house was equipped with a fast internet connection and that this should not lead anyone to compare it to a restaurant. 

He joked that Kioko was saying so simply because he was not used to such homes before proceeding to showcase even sleeker details of the mansion.

“The WiFi settings are different. These are not hotel settings; you are just not used to them yet, but you will get used to it,” he said, turning the conversation light-hearted while reinforcing his point.

In a playful yet pointed manner, Tom also jokingly claimed that he has chefs inside the house, a sarcastic nod to the hotel comparisons circulating online.

Outside, the mansion boasts a large parking area where two cars were parked during the video, further emphasising the expansive nature of the property. 

Blessed property

The comedian, who had been giving fans a sneak peek into the progress of his dream home, officially unveiled it on December 24, 2024. 

To mark the special occasion, he invited a priest who blessed the entire property with holy water. 

In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, the priest could be seen sprinkling holy water around the compound, praying alongside Tom and his close friends. 

Later, Tom popped champagne to celebrate the milestone, proudly crediting God for the achievement. 

“God is faithful… all is possible,” he declared on Instagram, capturing the joy of the moment.
