Martha Karua expresses gratitude as leaders, friends console her following her father’s death

Martha Karua has expressed heartfelt appreciation to leaders, friends and supporters who have stood with her family following the passing of her father.
In a post shared on her official Instagram page on Monday, September 28, 2026, the veteran politician revealed that she had returned from Kirinyaga that afternoon and had since been receiving friends who visited to condole with her family following the loss of her beloved father.
Karua said the overwhelming support, prayers and messages of encouragement from those around her had brought comfort to her family during the difficult period of mourning.
Family receives messages of comfort
The former Justice Minister noted that the outpouring of condolences had meant a great deal to her and her loved ones as they come to terms with the loss.
“I returned from Kirinyaga this afternoon, and since then, my family and I have been receiving friends who have come to condole with us following the loss of my beloved father,” Karua wrote.
She added that the kindness shown to her family had reminded them of the importance of having people stand with them during moments of grief.
The politician also expressed gratitude to everyone who had taken time to send messages, offer prayers and visit her family to share in their sorrow.
Leaders stand with Karua
Karua specifically acknowledged several prominent figures who visited her family and offered their support following the death of her father.
Among those she thanked were her daughter Hon. Waithera Chege, Hon. Eugene Wamalwa, Hon. Fred Matiang’i, Hon. Ndindi Nyoro, Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi and Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka.
She appreciated them for making time to visit and stand with her family during what she described as a difficult moment.
“I am very grateful to my dear daughter Hon. Waithera Chege, my brothers Hon. Eugene Wamalwa, Hon. Fred Matiang’i, Hon. Ndindi Nyoro, Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi and Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka for taking the time to visit, and stand with my family and I during this difficult time,” she stated.
A message of gratitude
Karua concluded her message by thanking everyone who had shown love and support to her family after the loss.
“Thank you for being with us,” she wrote, acknowledging the comfort that came from friends, leaders and well-wishers who stood by them.
