Size 8 breaks down while hugging 13-year-old contestant on new talent show
Gospel musician Size 8 Reborn was brought to tears after a moving performance by 13-year-old contestant Sheila Wanjiru.
In a video shared on TikTok on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, the young singer impressed the judges and audience with her powerful rendition of Loliwe, a song by the late South African artiste Zahara. Her voice and stage presence left everyone stunned, but it was her emotional delivery that deeply touched Size 8.
Unable to hold back her emotions, Size 8 walked on stage and embraced Sheila. In a heartfelt exchange, she offered to mentor the teenager for the rest of the competition.
She told Sheila that she was “blessed and highly favoured,” and promised to get her a trainer. But more than that, she said she would be her support system, guiding her every step of the way.
“You are truly blessed and highly favoured,” she told Sheila. “Good girl, my daughter—sings. I will walk this journey with you. I know you don’t have a trainer, I am going to give you a trainer, but from today, I’ll be your guide and support. You’re not alone anymore,” Size 8 reassured.
Sheila is one of the top contestants in the reality show that highlights young musical talent in Kenya. The competition offers prizes worth over Ksh1 million.
Sheila’s performance also served as a tribute to Zahara, who passed away in December 2023.
Judges
The show, dubbed ‘Next Super Star’, is hosted by popular personalities Eddie Butita and Amina Abdi Rabar. Judges include rapper King Kaka, producer Motif the Don, and Size 8 Reborn.
The household names have been tapped to host, judge, and mentor contestants on their journey to stardom.
