Sauti Sol ink international deal with UMG

Award-winning Kenya boy band Sauti Sol on Thursday, January 30, revealed that they have signed a record deal with a leading music company, Universal Music Group (UMG).

The Sura Yako hitmakers shared the good news with their fans through their official social media pages. 

They signed the deal in South Africa at Universal Music Group’s offices.

The company has its African offices in South Africa and Nigeria. 

Sauti Sol now joins the likes of Tiwa Savage, Diamond Platinumz,Mr. Eazi, StoneBwoy, Vanessa Mdee and Tekno who are African artistes signed under the record label. 

They are the first Kenyans to be signed by UMG.  

Sauti Sol is one of the most successful boy bands in Africa with a record label of their own named Sol Generation which has natured the likes of Nviiri the StoryTeller, BenSoul who have been doing well musically.

Other artists under Sol Generation are Kaskazini and Crystal Asige.   

Kenyans took to social media to congratulate them on this big achievement.
