Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has once again renewed his public search for a wife, this time declaring that he is interested in marrying a lesbian who is about to reform.

The outspoken legislator announced on his X account on Monday, September 1, 2025, noting that he is keen on finding a partner who fits this description.

“Natafuta lele mwenye ako karibu kuribu ku reform akuwe bibi,” Salasya stated.

Salasya’s search for a life partner has been anything but simple. Over the years, he has made headlines with his attempts to woo different women, only to end up in controversy or rejection.

One of his most memorable pursuits was of socialite Huddah Monroe. The effort ended in a public spat after she dismissed his advances, leading to an exchange of insults on social media. In 2022, he also openly expressed interest in content creator Azziad Nasenya, who turned him down.

In previous interviews, the MP described his ideal partner as someone ambitious yet willing to embrace a rural lifestyle. He has often criticised women in Nairobi for preferring urban living, insisting that he wants a woman who can settle with him in the village.

“The Bible says submission is key. It’s Biblical, it’s spiritual; you should be submissive. It’s hard for me to find someone because girls nowadays want to stay in Nairobi, but I want someone who can live in the village. Someone advised me to get a teacher or banker, someone busy so they won’t bring me stress,” Salasya said.

Quest for a wife

He has also not shied away from making controversial remarks about relationships. In the past, he declared that he dislikes dating virgins, saying he would rather not take on the responsibility of being the first.

“When I realise she is a virgin, I will allow her to go have another man to break her virginity and come back to me. I hate to labour to break a woman for another man hehe…though sisi vienyeji we are better at breaking virgins than born town who are very weak on the bed,” he stated.

Earlier this year, Salasya revealed that he had made lifestyle changes to improve his chances of finding a wife. He said he had been advised to quit alcohol if he was serious about settling down, and he confirmed that he now drinks only soft beverages and ensures he gets home before nightfall.

“I was told if I really want to get married, I must stop drinking. Nowadays, I just take soda and I reach home early,” he explained in a lighthearted Instagram video.

Salasya has also been outspoken on his views about drugs and alcohol. In December 2024, he argued that marijuana users were more peaceful than alcohol drinkers and suggested that weed should be legalised while alcohol should be banned.

“People who take weed do not cause more problems than those who take alcohol. Weed can be legalised, but alcohol can be banned. Watu wanakunywa pombe hupenda kelele sana than wa bangi,” he said.
