Kenya Power lists parts of Nairobi to experience power interruptions on Wednesday, September 2

Parts of Nairobi are set to experience planned power interruptions on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, according to a notice issued by Kenya Power.
The utility company on Tuesday evening, September 1, 2026, said the interruptions will affect selected areas in Nairobi West and Nairobi South, with the outages scheduled between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
“Good evening, Please find attached the list of areas scheduled for planned power maintenance tomorrow, September 2, 2026,” Kenya Power announced.
Here are specific areas set to be affected by the planned power outage.
Nairobi West
In Nairobi West, the interruption will affect part of Langata from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, including KWS Headquarters, Langata Barracks, Camp David, Langata KRA, Jambo Estate, Shree Cutch, Samaj, CALE Infrastructure and EPCO.
Other affected areas include Tamarind, Trident Park, Carnivore Restaurant, Gulf Energy, Daisy Park, Oyster Mews, Westpark, Phenom Park, Phenom Estate, Serene Gardens and Dorothy Park, among adjacent customers.
Nairobi South
In Nairobi South, the interruption will affect part of Sewage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The affected areas include St Joseph, St Charles Lwanga, Danon High School, Sewer Plant, Sewage Social Centre, St Cicilia, Watoto Wema, Kwa Rutto, Alphonse, Kwa Malorry, Kwa Kogi and Kwa Muturi, as well as adjacent customers.

Other areas affected
Apart from Nairobi County, Kenya Power also listed planned interruptions in parts of Murang’a, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi, Homa Bay, Uasin Gishu and Nandi counties.
In Murang’a, the interruption will affect Kiruri, Ichichi, Gathaithi, Mununga and surrounding areas between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
In Nyeri, areas around Gathugu Market will experience an interruption from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, including Kagumo-Ini Coffee, Kiamabara Dispensary, Gathugu Market, Gathugu Coffee Factory, Iharu, Gaiti, Mt Carmel Secondary School and Kagumo-Ini Water Pump.
Parts of Tharaka Nithi County around Muthambi will also be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The listed areas include Marima Primary School, Ntatua, Rwanderi Coffee Factory, Muthambi Secondary School, Rurea Village, Kangethia Primary School and Karigini Secondary School and Market.
In Homa Bay, the interruption will affect Mbita and Rusinga from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, including Kaugege Centre, the whole of Mbita Town and Rusinga Island.
Meanwhile, parts of Uasin Gishu County will experience interruptions from 9.30am to 3.30pm. The affected areas include Mugundoi Centre, Chemenei, AIC Kosgei Secondary School, Chepkigen and Ngeria.
In Nandi County, the interruption will affect parts of Ol’essos and Himaki from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, including part of Ol’essos Technical, Emrok Tea, Himaki and Chepkunyuk.
Customers in the affected areas should plan accordingly during the scheduled maintenance period.
