Nicco Movers resumes operations after temporary suspension

Nicco Movers Limited has announced the resumption of its normal operations following a temporary suspension.
In a public notice issued on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the moving company informed its customers that it had resumed operations following a High Court order and thanked them for their patience during the period.
“We are pleased to inform our valued customers that NICCO MOVERS LIMITED has resumed normal operations following a High Court order,” the company said.
Nicco Movers also expressed appreciation to its customers for their patience and support.
“We sincerely appreciate your patience,” the company added.
The company further assured customers that it was ready to continue serving them as it returned to normal operations.
“We look forward to serving you again. Let’s travel together,” Nicco Movers said.
Temporary suspension
The resumption comes a day after the bus SACCO announced a temporary suspension of its operations as it continued to engage with relevant authorities over an incident involving a passenger who fell from one of its vehicles in June.
In a public notice dated Tuesday, September 1, 2026, the company said the suspension follows the incident that occurred on June 5, 2026, involving a passenger who had boarded one of its vehicles and subsequently fell.
“NICCO MOVERS LIMITED would like to inform our valued customers and the general public that our vehicle operations are temporarily suspended as we continue to engage and cooperate with the relevant authorities regarding the incident that occurred on June 5, 2026,” the company said.
“We understand that this may inconvenience our passengers and business partners, and we sincerely apologise for the disruption.”
What happened in June?
On June 5, 2026, 19-year-old Eugene Mutuku, a Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) student, died following an incident involving a Nicco Movers 1 SACCO vehicle along Thika Road.
According to his family, he had paid his fare and was waiting for his change when a confrontation with a conductor occurred, after which he fell from the moving matatu, registration number KDV 713J.
Mutuku was rushed to hospital but later died at Kenyatta National Hospital from severe injuries.

“The probable cause of death is severe bleeding due to force from a blunt object, and we suspect it was the tyre that ran over him,” Boniface Musyoka stated.
