Rayvanny was slapped with an additional fine for performing at the Nandy Festival before completing the process of exiting Wasafi.

The Bongo singer on July 12, 2022, officially announced he had parted ways with Diamond Platinumz’s record label Wasafi after six years.

Before completing the process of exiting Wasafi, Rayvanny performed at the Nandy Festival 2022 on July 23 together with several leading Bongo artists like Alikiba.

Wasafi fined Rayvanny

Wasafi slapped Rayvanny with an additional Tsh50 million/Ksh2.5 million for performing at the Nandy Festival before completing the process of exiting the label.

Vanny Boy had initially been forced to pay Tsh800 million/Ksh40 million for terminating his contract with Wasafi before its expiry.

The ‘I Miss You’ hitmaker had a whopping Tsh1 billion (Ksh50 million) exit clause on his contract but the amount was negotiated down to Tsh800 million after Babu Tale intervened.

Rayvanny was ultimately allowed to terminate his contract with Wasafi after he raised the Ksh40 million to buy out the remainder of the contract he signed when he joined the label in 2016. As per reports, the contract was to run for 10 years.

During the negotiations, Rayvanny went ahead to perform at Nandy Festival in breach of his contract with Wasafi which at that point had not been terminated yet.

Mwanzo alikubali kulipa milioni mia nne yote kukawa na mvurutano kwa digital platform zake YouTube wapi wapi hapo ndipo kutokea tashwishi. Alitaka kujua zinamustakabali gani. Lakini Rayvanny akastopisha milioni mia nne kwa sababu alitaka kujua akitoa hii mia nane digital platform zangu mtawachilia lakini kabla bado wana mvurutano hao akaibukia show ya Nandy kama hajamaliza paperwork lakini hii ikawa ni kukiuka masharti,” Clouds FM presenter Mwemba Burton, popularly known as Mwijaku, said while addressing the media.
