Presenter Kai recounts losing wife Diana during honeymoon in Dubai
Popular Kenyan media personality Presenter Kai has shared an emotional and gripping account of a terrifying moment during his honeymoon in Dubai when he lost contact with his wife, Diana Yegon, for several hours.
Speaking during an interview with Oga Obinna on the night of Monday, July 14, 2025, Presenter Kai narrated how the incident began after a business meeting they had scheduled during their trip.
Following the meeting, they decided to do some shopping before returning home.
Train journey
The couple, accompanied by their friend Barney, boarded a train. As they moved up an escalator, Diana pulled out her phone and told Kai to go ahead while she recorded them making a fun memory for social media.

What began as a light-hearted moment quickly spiralled into confusion and panic.
“Tukiwa kule tulipata a business meeting, so tukaischedule so tukaambia ule msee wa ile kampuni kuwa our last day tutakuwa tuko free so tutakuja kwa ofisi tuongee.
Sisi tulikuwa mbele yeye akawa nyuma anarecord tukitengeneza reel for memories. Kizaazaa kikaanzia hapo sasa.”
Diana left with no phone
The situation worsened when they realised that Diana’s phone had shut down and none of them had a working local SIM card to reconnect.
Desperate to reunite, Kai and Barney disembarked at the next station and took another train back, believing Diana would be waiting. She wasn’t.
Mimi kwa kichwa changu najiambia hajui kwenye tulikuwa tunaenda, so atatungojea. Tukashuka tukachukua train yenye inarudi. Kufika hapo hayuko. Tukazunguka kila mahali hayuko. Nikaingia online nikamtext kuwa naomba mungu tu kwenye utakuwa ufike uombe charger ujaji simu utuambie kwenye uko tukufuate. Alitafuta na hakupata mahali pa kujaji,” he recounted.

Search efforts
The two friends then tried several more train trips, visiting the initial destination and even proceeding to the supermarket they had originally planned to visit, but Diana was nowhere to be found.
“Tukapanda tena train ingine tukaenda ile stage tukazunguka pale na hatukumpata, tukajiambia maybe alienda direct mpaka kwenye tulikuwa tunaenda. Tukaingia train ingine tukaenda mpaka ile point, kufika hapo tukazunguka bado hatukumuona. Tukaamua kwenda ile supermarket yenye tulifaa kwenda, tukaenda hapo tukatafuta hadi usiku saa tatu saa nne huko na hatukumpata. Tukajiambia, Maybe amerudi kwa hoteli,” Kai said.
Kai returned to their hotel room alone. With his heart heavy and mind racing, he arrived to find Diana hadn’t checked in yet.
“Tulipomkosa tukaacha tu tukasema atapata mahali achaji simu anitext. Barney alikuwa anaingia kazi akaniacha akasema nirudi tu hoteli.
After hours of agonising waiting, at nearly midnight—six hours after she had vanished—Diana finally walked through the door. Overwhelmed by relief, they both broke down in tears.
Many hours later, almost at 12 midnight, na alikuwa amepotea kama 6 pm, ndo alirudi. Tukaanza tu kulia,” Presenter Kai recounted.
