Radio presenter Alex Mwakideu has confirmed that his friendship with Robert Burale remains strong despite the attention drawn by his recent tell-all interview with his sister, Rozina Mwakideu.

Speaking during a phone call with Milele FM’s Ankali Ray on Monday, October 6, 2025, the veteran broadcaster noted that even after Rozina’s revelations about her past marriage with the motivational speaker, his relationship with Burale has not been strained.

Mwakideu said he has known Burale long before his marriage to Rozina and that the two have always maintained a cordial and respectful friendship. He explained that they continue to talk regularly and that nothing from the interview has come between them.

“Let me tell you, Robert Burale is my brother, and I knew him before I ever knew Rozina. He is my brother, and I knew him long before she did. We had a good, cordial relationship before they got married, during their marriage, and even after they separated. Even now, after that interview, we still talk,” he said.

He dismissed claims that the conversation with Rozina was designed to attack or embarrass Burale, saying such assumptions were unfounded.

According to him, the interview was part of an open platform meant to allow both sides to share their perspectives, not a plot to create conflict.

“So that interview was not to attack anyone. In fact, after I did that interview, even Burale said he was open to Rozina coming to share her side. And even fans in the comments section asked me to bring her to speak for herself. That is all there is to it.”

Mwakideu also clarified that Burale was aware of the interview and even supported the idea of Rozina expressing her side, something that he said reflected the maturity of both parties.

He insisted that Rozina and Burale ended their marriage peacefully years ago and have continued to respect one another.

“People should stop this social media talk that is now starting, saying things like, ‘Oh, maybe it was planned.’ No. Kenyans just love gossip, honestly. Rozina is fifty years old, these are mature people. Look at it, they got married thirteen years ago and separated peacefully. To this day, they have never spoken ill of each other,” Mwakideu added.

He further urged Kenyans to avoid spreading unnecessary speculation about their private lives, stressing that he has no interest in creating drama or clout.

Mwakideu maintained that his loyalty and friendship with Burale remain intact, saying they have continued to communicate even after the interview aired.

He added that his long career in broadcasting has been built on professionalism, not gossip, and that he values both Rozina and Burale as individuals who have each handled their past with dignity.

“There is no name of Burale that we have tarnished. Where is my brother, have I set up Burale? Not at all. You know me, I am an elder in this industry, I am not a child. This is my twenty-first year in broadcasting. I cannot do childish things. Broadcasting has raised me, it has fed me, and it has taken care of my family. I cannot handle it carelessly,” Mwakideu said.
