Mummie Francie reveals she nearly split with her partner after rocky 2024

Make-up artiste and TikToker Fransisca Mbaye, alias Mummie Francie, has opened up about a turbulent stretch in 2024 that nearly ended her relationship with her partner Mbaba Official, saying the year was marked by financial missteps, emotional strain and long stretches of silence that pushed them to the edge.

She said that matters became so strained that there were moments when each considered walking away for good.

Speaking during an interview with a local TV station on the night of Wednesday, July 16, 2025, Mummie said the most difficult questions in relationships emerge when times are hard and resources are scarce, noting that she and her partner found themselves staring at that exact test.

“A lot of times things are tough, and the question is how well you solve them. If it were not for that, I would not be here talking about him today. By now, we would have gone our separate ways. 2024 was another tough one. We had fights, yes, and we almost broke up. 2024 was the most difficult year for us. Let me admit, I was part of the reason for the rocky relationship.”

Mummie admitted that she contributed to the rocky stretch, explaining that both she and her partner made what she called very bad financial decisions together.

She said those decisions dragged them dangerously close to bankruptcy and left emotional bruises that took time to acknowledge and heal.

She added that because money was tight and pressure was high, disagreements intensified quickly, and neither handled the tension well.

“We made some very bad decisions together, especially financially, and we were heading towards bankruptcy. Because of those bad decisions, I took things to heart.”

Mummie further revealed that she and her partner do not know how to fight, which is why they had cold wars that lasted painfully long.

She said her partner is not one to argue back and forth; instead, he gives a single sharp response that can cut so deeply that one feels like crying.

“Me and my baby daddy do not know how to fight physically. We have what I call cold wars. He is not the type to argue because he will only give you one response that will make you cry, and you may even get a cardiac arrest.”

Amid the strain, Mummie Francie said the friendship at the heart of their relationship helped pull them back from the brink.

She said that before they were parents and partners, they were friends, and that foundation allowed them to return to conversation, reflect on their shared mistakes and rebuild trust.

She credited that early friendship with making reconciliation possible after months that could have ended everything.

“What keeps my partner and me together is understanding, and that is what I would say applies to others too. When times are tough, what keeps you rooted is understanding each other.”
