The list of celebrities eyeing for political seats in the upcoming polls continues to grow, with the latest entrants being comedian Mulamwah and gospel artiste Eko Dydda.
Mulamwah, who was speaking during an exclusive interview with fellow comedian Dr. Ofweneke, disclosed that he is considering running for the Sirende Ward MCA seat. The comedian, who hails from Trans Nzoia county, stated that he is compelled to run given the poor state of leadership in his ward.
“There is some bad leadership going on and so it is upon us (the youth) to take up the mantle and change the mode of operation. If things go well I might decide and try and give it a good fight. I am considering running for the Sirende ward representative seat in August,” he said.
On his side, celebrated gospel artiste Eko Dydda took to his Instagram page to declare his interest in the Mathare North ward representative seat. Dydda however underscored that he is not moneyed enough to dish handouts to his supporters or to established political parties.
“Sina pesa ya kumwagia watu ama chama kubwa, but I come in the name of the Lord. MCA Mathare North ward. Chukua kura sasa tubadilishe hizi streets (I don’t have money to give my supporters or to bankroll big political parties, but I come in the name of the Lord. MCA Mathare North ward. Register as a voter today and join me in my quest to transform these streets),” he wrote.
The 2022 General Elections has so far attracted a myriad of celebrities from all fields of the entertainment industry.
