Mosiria calls out fathers walking away from their responsibilities

Nairobi County Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, Geoffrey Mosiria, has raised concerns after a woman visited his office several times seeking help to trace her husband, who he says abandoned his family and failed to offer any support.
On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, on social media, Mosiria said the woman has been struggling alone despite having court orders and an arrest warrant issued against the man.

He explained that the husband, who is a lawyer, has been finding his way out illegally and has not been held accountable.

According to Mosiria, the woman asked him to help share her story so that Kenyans can assist in tracing the man and ensure he provides for his wife and children. He added that he hopes the family finally gets the support they need.
Calling for accountability
Mosiria said the situation is painful because the woman has been coming to his office crying for help, and no action has been taken against the man despite the legal orders already in place.
He noted that it is worrying when someone with the ability to provide chooses to walk away from their duties, leaving their children to suffer.
He urged men to take responsibility for their families instead of running away when things become difficult. Mosiria said real fathers stay present, support their children, and face challenges instead of abandoning their families.

He said, “This lady has visited me several times in my office, crying for help because her husband abandoned her and their children, offering no support at all. Despite having court orders and even an arrest warrant issued against him, the husband, who is a lawyer, has been finding his way out illegally, and nothing has been done to hold him accountable. She requested that I help share her story so that Kenyans can assist in tracing this man and ensure he provides for his family. I truly hope she gets the support she needs.”
He also sent a message to men, reminding them that running away from responsibility is not right. “To all men out there: if you have a family, especially young children, please take responsibility. Do not run away from your duties. A real man never runs away from his responsibility.”
