Jose Chameleone’s brother, Pallaso, is a victim of South Africa’s rampant xenophobic attack.

Pallaso, who is also a musician and whose real name is Pius Mayanja, shared the news of his attack with his fans on social media.

According to a video shared by the musician, a machete-wielding mob attacked him in Johannesburg as he was travelling in the company of a friend on Wednesday, February 19.

Pallaso, who is the younger brother to celebrated musician Jose Chameleon is currently in hospital though his condition is still critical, asked his fans to pray for him through a post on his Instagram page.

”Thank y’all our fans world side for the concern and prayers — we would like to inform you that our artist PALLASO has been located and rescued and at the Hospital. However, his condition is still very bad keep him in your prayers,” read part of his post.

The news of his attack was met with anger from netizens, with Uganda’s musician-cum-politician Bobi Wine condemning the attack.

“Troubled by the news coming in from South Africa that our brother and fellow artiste Pallaso has been terribly attacked and hurt in what is said to be a xenophobic attack. I wish you the quickest recovery young King and hope that the authorities will quickly investigate this,” Mr. Wine said on his Twitter account.
