Kabugi denies faking Ksh300K robbery to get money from TikTok fans
Content creator Kabugi has come out strongly to deny claims that he faked a robbery incident to seek sympathy and money from his TikTok followers. In a TikTok post on Monday, August 4, 2025, Kabugi emotionally recounted a recent home break-in, saying he lost items worth over Ksh300,000.
Among the items stolen were two laptops, a 55-inch Samsung television and other personal equipment critical to his daily work. The incident has left the digital star shaken and temporarily unable to create or post content.
But according to the comedian, the financial figure was not shared to solicit funds.
“Ni ukweli nilikaribishwa Nairobi… Ksh300K is just to mention,” Kabugi said, explaining that he went live not to beg for money but to vent his frustration and seek answers after the traumatic event.
Claims of negligence
The entertainer revealed that the burglary happened while he was inside the house. Among the stolen items were laptops containing an unedited YouTube series, client videos, and a video project that had not been backed up.
“Tell me why naamka saa tisa ya usiku kushtuka… those guys stole from me nikiwa kwa nyumba,” he lamented. “So it’s not been easy. The reason nilikuja live si ati nilikuja kuchangisha… I didn’t come to beg.”

Kabugi said the robbery has not only cost him personally but also potential income from pending client work.
