Popular entertainer and content creator Jaymo Ule Msee has launched a scathing attack on the opposition, branding them as “GenCs”, which he defines as “General Complainers”.

In a statement posted on his social media pages, Jaymo accused the opposition of lacking any meaningful agenda for the country, saying their main role is to complain about everything without offering tangible solutions.

He went further to claim that the opposition is opportunistically riding on the Gen Z protest wave to push their political interests.

“The ‘United Opposition’ is led by GenCs (General Complainers) with no agenda for the country! And they are covertly riding on the Gen Z’s wave to mask their evil, selfish regime-change idea!” Jaymo posted.

His comments come amid rising political temperatures following the recent wave of Gen Z-led protests demanding accountability and reforms. While many young people view the protests as a non-partisan call for change, Jaymo suggests that some opposition figures are using the movement to serve hidden motives.

Jaymo’s recent controversial statements

There came a time when Jaymo Ule Msee, whose real name is Wilson Muirani Gathoni, began issuing controversial statements about recent political events in Kenya, particularly those surrounding the June 25, 2025, memorial protests.

His Facebook post labelling these protests—which commemorated those killed during the 2024 anti-Finance Bill demonstrations as “fake” and having a “tribal leaning with zero impact”,—ignited significant backlash, with many accusing him of insensitivity and tribalism.

Contrasting the 2025 protests with the “authentic and genuine” 2024 protests that saw broader participation, Jaymo faced intense criticism, particularly from Gen Z, who branded him a “sellout” and leaked his phone number on X for sending critical messages. This prompted him to lock his Facebook comment section and share screenshots of the harassment.

Saba Saba protests

This comes amid the Saba Saba protests, which have swept across Kenya, reigniting the spirit of the 1990 pro-democracy movement while addressing contemporary grievances such as police brutality, corruption, and governance failures.

Led largely by Gen Z activists and civil society groups, demonstrations erupted in Nairobi, Kitengela, Nakuru, Karatina, and Kisii. In Kitengela, protesters blocked roads and lit bonfires, while in Nakuru, businesses closed and schools sent students home due to fears of violence. A heavy police presence marked the day, with tear gas deployed in Nairobi’s Central Business District and on major roads.
