Harmonize claims he shaved bald in honour of Raila Odinga

Tanzanian artiste Harmonize has responded to questions regarding why he shaved his hair immediately after arriving in Kenya, revealing that he did so in honour of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
In a post on Instagram on Friday, November 21, 2025, the ‘Kidedea’ crooner offered fans a glimpse of his hairless transformation and explained that he undertook the bold change to pay tribute to the late leader and to demonstrate solidarity with the Kenyan people.

Harmonize arrived in Kenya on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, and was flanked by a team of hired bodyguards at JKIA, projecting an aura of mystery and high-profile arrival.
While addressing the press, he refrained from revealing the exact purpose of his visit to the country but unveiled plans to release a new album, which he promised would contain music unlike anything his fans have ever experienced before.
“New music and music that you have never heard of before – I am very excited myself,” he said with palpable enthusiasm.
Simultaneously, the Konde Gang CEO expressed relief that the year 2025 is drawing to a close, highlighting the personal and national challenges that have defined the year.
He also spoke candidly about the unrest that engulfed Tanzania during the October elections, acknowledging the difficulties faced by citizens, including artistes such as himself.
“So it is all about my new album, as I said. I have been working on the album but, as you know, it has been a very challenging year, especially for us Tanzanians, and as you know, matters around the campaigns and elections were complex and varied, and the year is coming to an end, thank God,” he said, blending English and Swahili expressions in a way that conveyed the emotional weight.
Tanzania concert cancelled
The development comes just days after the singer postponed his much-anticipated Dodoma concert as tension continued to hang like a heavy cloud over the Swahili-speaking nation, following days of nationwide protests linked to the country’s general elections.
In a statement shared by his music label, Konde Gang, on its official Instagram page on Thursday, November 6, 2025, the group confirmed that the event would not proceed as initially planned.
The performance had been scheduled for Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Talatala Lounge, located along Uhindini Street in the capital, Dodoma.

In the promotional poster they shared, the group expressed uncertainty about how the show would be received in light of the ongoing national unrest.
They noted that the atmosphere was still tense and unpredictable, admitting that their primary focus at the moment was on the nation’s healing rather than entertainment.
Konde Gang further mentioned that they were praying for peace to return to Tanzania.
“Show postponed. Prayers up for peace and healing,” the group posted, accompanying the statement with heart and Tanzanian flag emojis.
