Diana Marua orders Bahati to pull down ‘Seti’ video from YouTube

Socialite and Reality TV star Diana Marua has demanded that her husband, musician Kevin Bahati, delete his latest song Seti from YouTube, terming it a complete disregard for family values and the moral image they have built together.
In a video shared on TikTok on Saturday, October 4, 2025, the ‘Bibi ya tajiri’ crooner said her initial post about Bahati’s new musical direction was not intended for clout, as many had assumed, but was a genuine expression of disappointment over the artiste’s latest release.

She explained that the public had misinterpreted her remarks, accusing her of chasing relevance, yet her intention was to set the record straight regarding the values she stands for.
“You know, people think I put up a post yesterday and think I made that statement for clout or whatever reasons. But now I have to say, Bahati, until you pull down that video you posted yesterday, let us respect value and family,” she said.
Diana clarified that she was not part of the production of the controversial song and did not appear on set during its recording.

She revealed that she only came across the song’s premiere poster online and was shocked by the nature of its visuals and message. She maintained that she had not watched the full video, emphasising that she could not support content that undermines the principles of respect and family unity.
“It does not mean that because I was not on the set of that song, you can go and do whatever you want, and do not say I am dramatic. I never came to the video set. And by the way, guys, I have not watched that music video yet. I just saw a premiere poster and was wondering what was going on,” she lashed.
Consequences
The influencer went on to state that until Bahati takes down the video from YouTube, she would refrain from associating herself with him in public posts or projects.
She insisted that the decision to distance herself from the song was out of respect for her family, her brand, and the business partners who depend on her to uphold integrity.
Diana also reminded Bahati to take life seriously and maintain focus on values that promote responsibility and respect.
“Until you pull down that video is when I can allow us to refer to ourselves as ‘we’ in any post, but for now, I use ‘I’. Get serious with life.”

Her reaction follows the release of Seti, Bahati’s latest single that has stirred controversy across social media due to its bold lyrics and explicit visuals.
The video, which quickly went viral, has divided opinion among fans and critics, with many arguing that the former gospel artiste has drifted too far from his spiritual roots.
Artistic direction
Diana’s remarks come just days after she released a formal statement outlining her position regarding Bahati’s new artistic direction.
In a statement on Instagram on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, Diana said that while she respects her husband’s journey as an artiste, her focus remains on her business ventures, partnerships, and the values she represents.
She noted that her goal is to carry herself in a manner that reflects growth, maturity, and responsibility, making it clear that she would not be involved in the path Bahati has recently chosen in his music.
“Dear Team Diana, I know many of you have seen the recent conversations and content around Bahati. While I respect his journey as an artist and the choices he makes for his career, I want to be clear that my focus is different. I am fully committed to my businesses, my partnerships, and the brands that trust me. That means carrying myself in a way that reflects responsibility, growth, and the values I stand for.”
She reaffirmed her commitment to maintaining professionalism and integrity, thanking her supporters and brand partners for continuing to walk with her through what she described as a moment of clarity and principle.
Diana stated that protecting her image and the values of family was more important than public perception or online attention, insisting that her stance was a personal and moral decision, not a publicity stunt.
“Out of respect for My family, My partners and the people who look up to me, I will not be involved in the direction Bahati has recently taken in his music. I believe in supporting one another, but I also believe in protecting my brand and the spaces I’m building. Thank you to all my supporters and partners who continue to walk this journey with me,” Diana said.
