Media personality Betty Kyallo has revealed that she was introduced to drinking alcohol by her father Wilfred Kyallo.

The mother of one spoke about taking her first sip of booze while appearing on her reality show Kyallo Culture.

“My dad gave me my first sip of alcohol. We have a cordial relationship,” she said.

Betty Kyallo’s parents separated

Betty only introduced her father Wilfred Kyallo to her fans for the first time in July 2020. Many people only knew her mother Julia Ngii whom she has been posting for so long.

Back in 2017, the former K24 news anchor revealed to a local publication that her parents separated when she was still very young and life was not easy.

“There’s a time when my mum and dad separated for some time and so my mum was basically taking care of us and therefore it was really hard… but anyway you rise above that,” she said.

Betty’s sister Mercy Kyallo also talked about their parents’ separation in an interview, revealing that her mom and dad went their separate ways when she was only 10 years old.

“My dad went abroad to look for greener pastures. That is when they parted, we struggled for a while but I thank God because He sustained us. My dad is still alive and I still talk to him despite him and my mum breaking up.” Mercy said in a media interview.

Speaking on her reality show, Betty recalled how her mother struggled financially after separating from their father.

“My mum was devastated and for some time, we were struggling, not eating the best meals at dinner, like we used to eat pumpkin and strong tea at night,” Betty said.
