Betty Kyallo opened up about her failed relationship with former Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho whom she secretly dated for some time.
The media personality debunked rumours surrounding her relationship with Joho while speaking during an interview with Massawe Japanni on Radio Jambo
Betty specifically addressed the issue of the multimillion-shillings Porsche Cayenne that Joho allegedly repossessed after they broke up.
“Tunaskia ulipokonywa gari na aliyekua gavana wa Mombasa Hassan Joho (We heard former Mombasa governor Hassan Joho repossessed his vehicle),” Massawe asked Betty.
Betty denied such a thing ever happened. She stressed that Joho was such a gentleman and that they are still friends to date.
“Imagine that story was so fake. That never happened. He was such a nice guy. Even right now we are friends. We are so cool,” Betty said.
“We were so happy for such a long time,” she added.
Muliachana kwa nini? (Why did you guys break up?) Massawe probed.
Betty couldn’t explain precisely what caused her breakup with Joho but she said the former Mombasa governor paid everything for her for a whole year including DSTv subscription when they broke up.
“You know he is such a nice guy, he didn’t do any of those things. Like tuliachana vizuri
Do you know like for a whole year he paid for everything mbaka DSTv. Kila kitu for a whole year subscription. He really took care of me,” Betty said.
“It was a conversation of ‘just ask Betty how she would love me to support her in case of anything,” Betty’s sister Mercy Kyallo added.
“Did you cheat?” Massawe asked Betty.
“No mimi sasa nakaa kucheat? Me I don’t know how to cheat,” Betty replied.
“If he came back would you start anything again?” Massawe inquired.
“I am happy right now. I am happy with whoever I am with,” Betty said.
The rumours
Rumour had it that Joho gave Betty Kyallo a BMW X6 and a Porsche Cayenne, besides a monthly upkeep stipend that would make any girl’s eye water when they were dating.
Gossip mills also reported that Joho gave Betty a lavish house along Lenana Road in Nairobi’s Kilimani area.
It was also reported that the former governor was very generous that he even opened a business that deals in leather products for Betty’s sister Mercy.
Rumour had it that the media personality broke up with Joho in 2017 when she demanded that their relationship be made public so that she could be the First Lady of Mombasa County.
The same rumours said that Joho kicked Betty out of the said Kilimani house and repossessed the BMW X6 and the Porsche Cayenne which has a price tag of Ksh8 million to Ksh15 million.
Gossip mills reported that Betty was behind the wheel driving the Porsche Cayenne along Mombasa Road when she was stopped and the vehicle repossessed.
Rumours had it that Betty was forced to park off the road near Nyayo Stadium and picked up her stuff before Joho’s security detail seized the German machine.
It was also reported that Joho was a bit lenient allowing Betty to take the furniture and other personal effects.
The former Mombasa governor was also said to have given Betty some send-off money to start her new life following their alleged ugly breakup.
Betty started dating Joho after her marriage to Dennis Okari hit rock bottom.
A while back, Betty herself wondered how she dated Okari for four years only for their marriage to crumble after six months.
