Late gospel singer Betty Bayo’s children, Dany and Sky Victor, have travelled to Naivasha for a vacation just six days after their mum was laid to rest in an emotional burial in Kiambu County.

The kids are accompanied by their stepdad, Hiram Gitau, and are also in the company of their UK-based aunt Shiru Stuart and her children.

In a video that Sky shared on her Facebook page on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, she is seen together with her cousins swimming at a luxe resort and expressing how happy she was to unwind after a difficult month.

In the video, her brother Dany is also seen getting elated as he played with his cousin Maina inside a huge and gleaming swimming pool.

In a caption to the video, Sky shared that it had been an overwhelming month after her mum’s passing, saying that getting to rejuvenate felt just in order.

She also reflected on how the resort looked stunning, describing it as a beautiful sanctuary that offered rare comfort at a time when their hearts needed it most.

“Thank you, Travel Club, for coming through! We truly needed to get out of that house and rejuvenate in a relaxing place like this,” she wrote.

Mum’s illness

The getaway comes just days after Sky gave a fuller account of the events that unfolded on the Saturday her mother became critically unwell.

Speaking in a YouTube video on Sunday, November 23, 2025, she explained that everything began a day before, when doctors finally informed her mother of the exact illness she had been battling.

According to Sky, the medical team told Bayo that the tests showed she had leukaemia, and this confirmation was a deeply shocking moment for her.

“It happened on a Saturday. The day before, the doctors had finally told her the real condition she had, and they explained clearly that it was leukaemia,” she recalled.

Sky said the information was delivered clearly and directly, and the weight of hearing the final diagnosis hit her mother with immediate emotional impact.

According to her, her mother suffered a stroke shortly after hearing the results.

“The news shocked her so much that she immediately suffered a stroke,” Sky said.

She explained that the stroke affected her facial muscles, causing one side of her face to change in appearance.

Sky said she noticed that part of her mother’s mouth had shifted and slanted to one side, which made it clear something serious had happened.

“The stroke affected her face, and one side of her mouth started to pull to the side,” she shared.
