Bahati responds to Diana Marua’s consistent nagging over relocation to new home

Ever since Kenyan singer Kelvin Bahati surprised his wife, Diana Marua, with a new G-Wagon Brabus in February 2025, Diana has been persistently urging him to match that gesture by relocating her to a more upscale neighbourhood.
The latest of this ongoing back-and-forth occurred on Monday, June 9, 2025, when Diana confronted Bahati just as he was preparing to leave for a meeting, asking him whether he believes she is always joking when she insists on moving to a more luxurious home.
Unlike previous occasions, Bahati responded this time, albeit cheekily, telling Diana that this should not be a major concern for her.
He insisted that she should be like other people from her Luo community who do not place much emphasis on the houses they live in but on the cars they drive.
“My rich husband, why am I saying you are rich, baby? Do you know home is where the heart is, and my heart is not at home, baby? Why do we have all these cars? Truko and Brabus, we have Range Rover, we have Brabus; if you combine all of them, they are more expensive than this house. Move me; I am not at peace in this house. Baby, every day you think I am just talking, I am serious about what I am saying. Stop ignoring me. Brabus is always seen on the potholes of Kamakis. People say Diana Marua’s Brabus was spotted in Kamakis,” Diana asked Bahati.
“It is normal for a Luo to have a good car rather than a good house; I have never seen a Luo with a better house than a car, as long as you have a good machine,” Bahati responded to her.
Bahati went on to tell Diana that for someone who comes from her Luo community, it is not surprising if she even owns a Lamborghini but goes back to sleep in a thatched house.
“A Luo can live in a grass-thatched house and come there with a Lamborghini. Let me go, babe,” he added.
However, Diana could not hear a thing from her husband and kept pestering him, telling him that she was tired of staying in Kamakis.
She insisted that the Luo people Bahati was talking about are not her and maintained that she has her own ambitions of owning a good home regardless.
“Those are them, babe, please move me. That is not love. You are throwing smoke at me,” she concluded.

Bahati defends Diana from trolls
The drama between the celebrity couple erupts just months after Bahati clapped back at netizens claiming Diana’s G-wagon was a fake.
Speaking during an exclusive interview on the Mic Cheque podcast on Sunday, April 27, 2025, the singer laughed off claims that the G-Wagon was fake and asserted that all netizens who had propagated the narrative that it was a refurbished Subaru were utterly mistaken.
“But at the end of the day, I let bloggers be. But when I have an event or anything special, I invite them. How could you possibly call a G-Wagon a Subaru?” he said.
Bahati revealed that the fake G-Wagon story is just one among many that bloggers have found convenient to sensationalise because it benefits them by driving traffic to their platforms.
He added that he does not harbour any deep resentment towards people who like to exaggerate things about him online.

However, he revealed that that was one of the reasons why he does not frequently appear in interviews, as people are always eagerly waiting for him to speak so that they can start overanalysing his words.
“I like it when I show up, make some noise, leave people talking, and then go back to work. When she texted me, I was busy planning the Bahati Bet initiative. But I am happy. I don’t do interviews often because when you talk too much, you end up overexplaining yourself, and as a man, everyone has a weakness,” the singer said.
