Aslay reveals why he keeps his life private

Bongo Flava sensation Dogo Aslay has opened up on why he has chosen to keep his life private.
Speaking during an interview with one of the local TV stations on the night of Friday, May 30, 2025, the singer revealed that the move is intentional since he does not like people to know about his life.
Loosely translated as: “I don’t really like people knowing about my personal life, because sometimes some of my fans like me just the way I am, while others might not like me because of what they see in my private life.”
Aslay on social media
Aslay further opened up on why he does not post so much on his social media platforms.
According to the former Yamoto band member, things have really changed, and if someone chooses to concentrate on social media, he/she can easily be misled.

He also noted that he is currently working under a music label and that he has to be really careful with what he posts.
Natamani kupost, lakini sasa wale majamaa lazima upost kitu ambacho wanakitaka wao kwa kipindi ambacho wanataka kutengeneza kazi yao nzuri,” he said.
Loosely translated to: “Things have changed nowadays — social media, if you follow it too closely, can really mislead you and even ruin your life. As for me, right now I’m signed under a label — I’m with Rockstar and also with Sony, meaning I’m signed to Sony. So there are certain things I do now that are different from how I used to do them before. These days I follow a schedule — I’m given a plan: this month you’ll do this, next month you’ll work on that. For instance, at the moment I’m in the process of releasing an album, and I think by the fifteenth or sixteenth it should be ready. It’s not that I don’t want to post; I’d love to post. But those guys [from the label] need you to only post what they want, at the time they feel it best fits the work they’re putting together.”
Aslay has made a long-awaited return with humor, heart, and a promise of more to come with the release of his new single, “No Money No Love.”
The track marks his first official release of the year, blending witty lyricism with real-life reflections on the complexities of love and money.
