The regions include Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia and West Pokot Counties.

Counties in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, including Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka, will mainly experience sunny intervals with a chance of light rains over a few places in the morning with nights being partly cloudy.

Counties in the south-eastern lowlands of Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, as well as inland parts of Tana River County, Kenya Met predicts showers in the afternoon and night on Saturday and Sunday, with mornings expected to be sunny.

“Mainly sunny and dry weather will prevail across most parts of the country. However, occasional rainfall is expected in a few areas, including the Highlands (West & East of the Rift Valley), Lake Victoria Basin, Central and South Rift Valley,” Kenya Met’s seven-day advisory reads.

Sunny and dry

In the advisory, the weatherman also predicted the continuation of sunny and dry conditions in coastal and northeastern counties like Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo with occasional night cloudiness.

Apart from the sunny and dry conditions, residents of Turkana and Marsabit counties should brace for strong southeasterly winds.

“Strong southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.5 m/s) are expected in parts of Turkana and Marsabit counties,” the advisory reads.

Temperature

In the advisory, temperatures are forecast to hit a high of 32°C with lows of 09°C over the five days, particularly in some coastal, south-eastern, and northern regions.
