Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru is not amused by King Kaka’s controversial song, Wajinga Nyinyi, after the artiste linked her to the loss of taxpayers money in the National Youth Service scandal.

The Wajinga Nyinyi song was published on YouTube on December 14, 2019, and hit out not only at national leaders but also voters, whom he accused of making poor choices at the ballot box every five years.

But the Kirinyaga governor has issued four demands to King Kaka, chief among them deleting of the song from all social media platforms, including on Twitter and YouTube.

On YouTube, the song has been viewed 1.3 million times and received over 14,000 comments from King Kaka’s fans, many of them in agreement with his strong criticism of the state of political affairs in the country.

On Twitter, the song and variants of the song title trended on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday with the storm it generated seemingly not dying any time soon.

Ms Waiguru also wants King Kaka to apologise, admit liability in writing on which the governor will pursue compensation for damages, and finally for the artiste to never utter defamatory words against her.

“Take notice if we do not receive a written confirmation indicating compliance with the above conditions, we have firm instructions to institute a multi-faceted swift, decisive and extremely inconveniencing adverse but perfectly lawful remedial proceedings and complaints against you,” said Ms Waiguru’s lawyer in her demand letter.

Already former Law Society of Kenya President and Senior Council Ahmednasir Abdullahi has offered for the second time to defend the Wajinga Nyinyi artiste in case of any lawsuits.

But Mr Ahmednasir has indicated if he will represent pro bono, that is without charge.
