Kenyan socialite and businesswoman Vera Sidika has advised men who are not ready to take responsibility as fathers to undergo a vasectomy.

The mother of two took to her Instagram stories on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, where she shared her views on men who neglect their children despite being financially stable. She said it is irresponsible for men to abandon their children and leave the burden of raising them to single mothers.

Vera insisted that while genuine financial struggles are understandable, there is no justification for wealthy men who refuse to provide for their children. According to her, such men should not even consider themselves fathers. She went further to call for Kenya to introduce a mandatory child support system to protect children from neglect.

“By the way, I’m only speaking from my own experience. But honestly, if your baby daddy is financially stable, there’s no excuse for him not to support his child. That’s just irresponsible. To all the single moms out here raising kids on their own in this tough economy, while the dads are out here flaunting their feelings & decisions are 100% valid,” the mother of two stated.

Adding;

“If someone is genuinely struggling financially, that’s understandable. But for the deadbeats… there’s no excuse. I think Kenya should introduce a mandatory child support system. 100. If a man is financially stable yet refuses to support his child, he has no business being a father. Men, if you dislike using protection, do everyone a favour and get a VASECTOMY!”

Her remarks come in the wake of ongoing scrutiny about her co-parenting arrangements with her ex-partner, singer Brown Mauzo. Some of her fans questioned her decision to allow Mauzo into her house, arguing that he does not contribute financially to the children’s upkeep.

Vera responded to the criticism by explaining that her priority is her children’s happiness and stability. She revealed that whenever she is away for work or travel, Mauzo stays with the children in her house, together with their nannies, until she returns. This, she said, ensures that her children always have at least one parent present in their lives.

This is after she shared CCTV footage from her home showing her children running excitedly to Mauzo, evidence, she said, of the strong bond between father and children. She stressed that despite the financial questions raised by critics, the children’s emotional connection with their father remains unbreakable.

“Fun fact, my kids always have a parent at home whenever I need to be at my apartment while hosting. I always ask their dad to spend the entire time with them. When I travel anywhere in the world, he stays with them along with the nannies, from the moment I leave to when I return. They never go without a parent present in their lives. Their bond is unbreakable,” Vera Sidika revealed.
