UDA mourns Enock Andanje in emotional tribute
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is mourning the sudden death of Malava Constituency aspirant, Enock Andanje, who collapsed and died while attending a Widows’ Empowerment Forum in Kakamega County.
The incident occurred during a widow economic empowerment programme held in Malava Constituency, an event that was being graced by the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi.

In a heartfelt statement issued on Friday, August 15, 2025, shortly after his death, UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan, the party described Andanje as more than a political leader, a dedicated servant of the people, a voice for the vulnerable, and a true believer in the empowerment of his community.
“Andanje’s commitment to uplifting widows, orphans, and youth was at the heart of his political and personal mission. His passion for uplifting the lives of widows, orphans, and youth was evident in his tireless work on the ground,” the statement read.
The party said his sudden death was a profound loss, not only for the UDA family but for the people of Malava Constituency ahead of the by-elections.
“We have lost a brother, a friend, and a patriot whose vision for Malava was rooted in unity, dignity, and opportunity for all. His death leaves a deep void in our party and in the hearts of the people he served,” the statement noted.
Extended to Andanje’s family
UDA extended its condolences to Andanje’s family, friends, supporters, and the residents of Malava Constituency, urging them to find solace in the enduring legacy of his work.
“May they find strength and comfort in knowing that his legacy of service will live on,” the statement added.
Omar described Andanje’s passing as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of servant leadership.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he said in signing off the tribute.
Andanje had been a visible figure in local politics, with a grassroots approach that endeared him to many residents.
His work in community empowerment forums often focused on socio-economic issues affecting vulnerable groups, making his sudden passing all the more devastating to his supporters.
