Tharaka Nithi Woman Representative Susan Mwindu has urged residents of her county to fully support Professor Kithure Kindiki, insisting that backing him now will give the county a chance at the presidency in 2032.

Speaking in Tharaka constituency on Saturday, August 23, 2025, where she launched the ‘Two Term’ movement, Mwindu affirmed that she sees the current political movement as a continuation of President William Ruto’s agenda, stating that he will serve his second term in 2027 alongside Kindiki.

She added that the county should pray and believe that Kindiki will become the next president in 2032, describing him as their son whose leadership the county must rally behind.

“Two-term is a movement, and I want to assure you that President William Ruto will serve his second term in 2027, and he is going to serve that term with Professor Kithure Kindiki. We want to pray and believe for our son, that in 2032, Professor Kithure Kindiki will be the next President of the Republic of Kenya,” she said.

In addition to advocating for Kindiki, Mwindu expressed strong support for Ruto’s recent anti-corruption stance, noting that no nation can prosper under corruption and nepotism.

She emphasised her backing for the president’s commitment to fight corruption and urged that leaders found misappropriating public funds should face the law.

Mwindu also stressed that evidence should be brought forward and culprits held accountable in court.

“I also want to say that no nation can excel under corruption and nepotism. So, when the president declared last Monday that he is going to fight corruption, that is my joy. I stand with him, support what he said, and urge him to hold all corrupt leaders accountable. If there are leaders who are squandering people’s money, this money is not theirs. When the President said that, I stand with him. Let evidence be brought forward and the culprits taken to court,” she added.

Jab at Gachagua

Mwindu then took a swipe at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, saying he was a dying horse that kicks because it is in the process of dying.

She warned him that it was impossible to claim leadership, yet he served for a considerable period, but failed to deliver visible progress or results.

“No one can claim leadership for two years or more without showing results, and we have not even seen progress, not even a child being born. So why come and lecture us now? No donkey dies without kicking its legs. Let it kick, but know that its death has already come,” she added.

Mwindu further emphasised the ambitions of the “Two Term” movement, stating that it belongs to Mt Kenya East, which comprises Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Meru counties.

She highlighted that they aim to lead the broader region and called for the recruitment of members from each area so that by 2026, the Two Term movement would have a presence everywhere.

“What we started today, the Two Term movement, belongs to Mt Kenya East, which includes Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Meru. We are leading the region, and we will also guide others. Everyone is expected to recruit around 209 members so that by next year, the Two Term movement will be everywhere.”
