Singer Abby Charms lights up stage in front of Kindiki and other senior officials

Tanzanian singer Abby Charms has delivered a memorable performance at the Infra for Africa Forum and the Africa50 General Shareholders Meeting (GSM), entertaining Kenya’s Deputy President Kithure Kindiki and other senior government officials gathered in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The high-level event, taking place on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 brought together Heads of State, ministers, investors and infrastructure leaders from across the continent to discuss Africa’s development agenda.
While the forum focused on infrastructure and economic growth, Abby Charms added a musical touch to the gathering with a performance that left guests relaxed and engaged.
Abby celebrates the opportunity
Before taking to the stage, the singer shared her excitement about being part of the continental event, saying it was an honour to contribute through music. In a post shared on her Instagram page earlier in the day, Abby expressed gratitude for the invitation and highlighted the importance of this year’s theme.
“Honoured to be part of the Africa50 General Shareholders Meetings 2026! Grateful to contribute through the universal language of music in support of this year’s theme, ‘A Decade of Economic Impact: From Ambition to Delivery,’” she wrote.
Her soothing vocals and calm stage presence provided a refreshing break from the day’s official proceedings as delegates enjoyed the performance.
Kindiki represents President Ruto
Among those attending the event was Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who represented President William Ruto at the forum. Sharing an update after arriving in Tanzania, Kindiki confirmed his participation in the continental meeting.
“DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2026 Arrival Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, representing President William Ruto at Infra for Africa Forum and the AFRICA50 General Shareholders Meeting (GSM),” Kindiki shared in a statement.
The two-day forum has brought together African leaders and investors to discuss infrastructure financing, energy, digital transformation, transport and economic growth across the continent.
