Salasya blasts Mudavadi over SHA’s unpaid dues to Mumias hospital

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has come out at Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi over remarks that unpaid dues to a hospital in Mumias had been paid by the Social Health Authority (SHA).
The Mumias East MP took to his official X account on Friday, August 29, 2025, in a strongly worded statement, Salasya dismissed Mudavadi’s claims as blatant lies, accusing him of misleading the public to protect what he termed as a corrupt system
“It is a tragedy of the highest order to watch a man of Musalia Mudavadi’s age and stature stand before cameras and lie through his teeth that …. Hospital has been paid by SHA,” Salasya said.
Similarly, the legislator dismissed Mudavadi’s assertions as dishonest and accused him of shielding a broken system for political loyalty.
“That is not statesmanship, that is the work of a town crier hired to defend thieves. Musalia, stop lying to Kenyans. You can’t call rain sunshine just because Ruto gave you an umbrella,” Salasya wrote.
“….. is choking because of unpaid bills, and you have the audacity to tell us stories? Shame! Let me repeat loud and clear: my ultimatum still stands. I am tabling a motion to send SHA home. Mandamano is loading,” Salasya said.
“If you don’t pay …..Mumias will roar, and when we roar, even lions in State House will tremble. Kenya Kwanza has turned lying into a national anthem. Every day, it is lie after lie, until truth itself feels unemployed,” Salasya noted.
Salasya’s unity message to Mudavadi
The MP, while accusing Mudavadi of betraying the Luhya community, also accused Mudavadi of abandoning Luhya unity for political convenience, stating, a man who once carried the Bible of Luhya unity is now carrying the handbag of liars
“But remember, when a hyena wears a priest’s collar, it doesn’t stop being a hyena , it still eats goats. Musalia, you are turning yourself into a political comedian. A man who once carried the Bible of Luhya unity is now carrying the handbag of liars,” Salasya said.
“People are watching, and history will not be kind. Mumias will not allow……a hospital that has treated our mothers, fathers, and children, to be strangled by greedy cartels and careless lies. We are not cucumbers to be sliced at will,” Salasya said.
