Ruto vows to ensure peace and stability in the country

President William Ruto has vowed to ensure peace and stability in the country following the Saba Saba protests that led to the deaths of 31 people and massive destruction of property and businesses on July 7, 2025.
Speaking during his assessment of the construction progress at the 540 housing units’ project at Kilimani Police Station in Nairobi County on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Ruto stated that his government will explore all possible means to ensure stability in the country.
“And we are going to use any available means to make sure that we stabilise the country. We cannot allow mayhem and anarchy to destroy the development we have in this country,” he said.
“You can call me any names you want to, but I will make sure there’s peace and stability in Kenya by all means possible,” he said.

Coup
Further, the Head of State has dared anyone attempting to remove him from office through unlawful means before the 2027 elections to proceed with their plans if they wish.
He warned them that they would soon learn the consequences of their actions, emphasising that Kenya is a democratic nation where only the people have the power to decide who becomes president.
“Niliona ati wanasema ati hawataongojea 2027 ati tupige kura, ati wanataka kupanga fujo, ati wapange maandamano, ati wachome mali ya watu, ati walete maafa Kenya, ati ndio wapindue serikali ya Kenya kabla ya 2027. Hii ni Kenya ya demokrasia. Hamwezi tuambia ati mtatumia fujo kupindua serikali. Mtajua hamjui hii ni nchi ya demokrasia na wananchi ndio wataamua.”
Loosely interpreted as:
“I saw people saying that they will not wait for 2027 to vote, that they want to plan violence and protests, that they will burn other people’s property and bring deaths in the country to overturn the government before then. This is a democratic country. You cannot tell us that you will use mayhem to overturn the government. You will not believe this is a democratic country, and Kenyans will decide,” he stated.
He accused certain individuals of planning to use violence and protests to overthrow the government through unconstitutional means, stating that such actions would be met with serious consequences.
