The NPS added that this progress reflects a steady decline in armed confrontations, which had previously disrupted livelihoods in the North Rift.
The police further encouraged locals to keep cooperating with authorities by providing information on hidden weapons or criminal activities. Officials reiterated that voluntary disarmament remains the preferred approach before any mandatory recovery exercise is launched in the region.
The statement emphasised the need for communities to embrace peacebuilding initiatives and avoid practices that undermine government-led efforts to enhance safety.
