Issuing a detailed statement about his attendance at the ongoing summit, the CS shared that over the past two days, he has pushed Kenya at the global event by reaffirming the country’s commitment to empowering youth and women-led enterprises through strengthening their access to financial resources and support systems.

He also detailed that he reiterated the ministry’s efforts in drafting the Startups Bill, which he states will help establish a structured policy and legal framework to support young innovators and entrepreneurs across the country.

“Over the past two days, I reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to empowering youth and women-led enterprises by strengthening their access to financial resources and support systems.I also shared that our Ministry is in the process of drafting the Startups Bill — a key step toward creating a structured policy and legal framework that will support young innovators and entrepreneurs across our nation,” he said in the statement shared via his official X account.

Oparanya’s ambition for youth
Oparanya has continuously sustained his commitment to empowering the youth and women in the country as he recently announced that the government was allocating Ksh33 billion under the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) and Kenya Jobs and Economic Transformation (KJET) to address the crisis of unemployment.
The CS who was speaking during the launch of the program at Musingo Boys High School in Ikolomani Constituency, Kakamega County, noted that at least one million youth and women will benefit from the five-year initiative which will be sponsored by the World Bank.
“Many young people are struggling because they don’t have work to support themselves, we hope to recruit one million young people to start their own businesses as part of our programme,” the CS said.
Oparanya’s comments come as part of the government’s initiatives to tackle unemployment, in accordance with President William Ruto’s manifesto.
