NYS announces 181 job vacancies

The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced to the public at least 181 vacant positions for technical instructors and lecturers, scheduled to take place in September 2025.
The centre, which has a mission to develop disciplined and empowered youth and instil patriotism, loyalty, integrity, and a commitment to duty and service in members of the service and staff, is inviting members of the public interested in joining the service to fill various departments within it.
NYS made the announcement in the MyGov publication released on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, while highlighting ways to submit applications.
“The National Youth Service (NYS) is pleased to announce to the public the recruitment of Technical Instructors and Lecturers scheduled to take place in the month of September 2025,” NYS said.
Likewise, the National Youth Service has announced an estimated salary amount for the positions as well as terms of service.
NYS salary range
According to NYS, they are seeking to recruit at least 130 Technical Instructors and are expected to receive a monthly compensation of Ksh28,620 to Ksh37,000
“Salary scale for Technical Instructor III CSG ’12’ JG ‘H’ Ksh28,620-Ksh37,000,” NYS added.
Similarly, qualifying candidates will be eligible for medical cover and a permanent and pensionable contract.
“The terms of the contract are the SHA Scheme for Civil Servants, Permanent & Pensionable, as existing in the Civil Service, medical cover, house allowance, commuter allowance, and leave allowance as existing in the civil service,” NYS noted.
In addition, NYS has noted that they seek to recruit at least 28 qualified lecturers who will receive an estimated salary of Ksh34,420 up to Ksh46,120 depending on the job grades.
“Salary scale Lecturer II, CSG11, JG ‘J’ Ksh34,420 -46,120 as existing in the Civil Service,” NYS wrote.
Applicants who are interested and meet the stated requirements by NYS are asked to complete the Application for Employment Form-PSC.2 (Revised 2016) and submit in a sealed envelope marked with the title of the position applied for.
In addition, the application should be accompanied by a detailed curriculum vitae, certified copies of academic certificates, testimonials, and a copy of the national identity card or passport.
NYS have advised interested candidates on how to submit their application before the stipulated deadline.
