Muturi takes jibe at Ruto, reveals his greatest regret as Cabinet Secretary
Former Attorney General Justin Muturi has taken a thinly veiled swipe at President William Ruto’s administration, describing his dismissal as a blessing in disguise and revealing his regret for joining the government.
In a statement on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, Muturi reflected on his removal from Cabinet, saying those who thought his career would end after his dismissal were mistaken.

“Nilifutwa wakidhani nitapotelea… kumbe maisha yanaendelea! Kupigania haki za Wakenya sio kosa, na kuajiriwa kwa hii serikali ndo ilikuwa makosa kubwa,” Muturi wrote.

Ruto dropped Muturi from the Public Service docket following a raft of Cabinet changes effected by his reshuffle.
Before he was dropped, the former Attorney General caused a stir with his criticism of the government’s handling of the abduction crisis.

The embattled CS had come under fire, as a section of MPs called for his immediate impeachment or resignation following his tide against his boss.
Muturi was sacked days after he dismissed speculation that he was planning to resign amid calls from a section of government leaders for him to step down.
Muturi maintained that he had no intention of stepping down, stressing that his focus was on holding the government accountable and ensuring adherence to the Constitution to safeguard the rights of all Kenyans.

For some time, Muturi had been at odds with the Kenya Kwanza administration that he served in, following his press conference in January, where he revealed details of his son Leslie Muturi’s abduction.
