Christabel Murunga, the widow of the late Matungu MP Justus Murunga, on Saturday, December 5 threw shade at the lawmaker’s lover Agnes Wangui Wambiri.
Christabel, who spoke during the burial ceremony of Murunga at Makunda Village in Kakamega County, said that the late parliamentarian did not introduce Wangui to her because Murunga loved and respected her (Christabel).
“This thing [relationship with Agnes Wangui Wambiri] you are hearing on social media here and there, is like a shadow of Murunga the person. When you hear Wangui claiming that my husband denied her his ID card [so that she could inscribe his name on the birth certificates of their alleged children], or when you hear her claim that my husband refused to introduce her to the public… it shows that he respected me,” said Christabel.
“He was not ready to introduce another woman to me [because he loved me]. And, that is why I am laying a flower on his grave today. He was a good husband to me, and a good father to my girls,” emphasised Christabel.
She continued: “The late MP was such a darling to me. He has brought up our children very well. He also looked after me so well. There are so many things I could not do on my own, but he was always there for me. He was a responsible man; so caring and so loving. I am now left stranded, wondering where I’ll start from without him in my life.”
Wangui claims that Murunga, whom she met in 2012 in Embakasi, Nairobi is the biological father of her two children, a boy and a girl.
