“Lengo letu kuu haswa ni kutoa wale jangili ambao wanaibia watu usiku katika jiji kuu la Nairobi; wale street families ambao wankuja kuuibia watu watashikwa na kuchukuliwa hatua,” Mosiria said.
In addition, Mosiria has acknowledged that there are sections of CBD that do not have streetlights and hence have served as proper hideout zones for the gangs.
He has hence revealed that plans are underway to have lights installed and other repairs done.
“Kuna team ya Mobility ambayo wanaenda kufix mobility and works, street lightings mahali ambapo zimeharibika na mahali ambapo hazipo wataweza kumap out na kuziweka ili tuweze kufukuza wezi mahali ambapo wamejificha,” Mosiria added.

Nairobi CBD gangs
His remarks follow an online outcray from Kenyans working and using the Nairobi Central Business District center where they expressed their anxiety over violent robberies, attacks and intimidation by alleged gangs.
In over atleast one week, Kenyans have been taking to TikTok and Instagram to share their experiences at the hands of juvenile delinquents who, they say, have been following them around, intimidating them, robbing them and even threatening to stab or smear human faeces on them.
According to several victims, these youthful criminal gangs have been operating around the Hilton roundabout, down to the entirety of Tom Mboya Street with others camping several meters away from the Galitos restaurant, from where they launch their attacks or stealthily follow their victims.
