Matiang’i declares Friday public holiday to mark Idd-ul-Fitr

Government of Kenya has declared next Friday, May 14 a public holiday to mark Idd-ul-Fitr.

Idd-ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan- a holy month of fasting and prayer in the Islamic faith.

In a gazette notice, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has declared the public holiday in line with the powers conferred to him by the constitution.
