LSK breaks silence on reported abduction of government critic Goddie

Faith Odhiambo, President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), has addressed the reported abduction of online government critic Goddie_Ke, following growing public outcry.
Concerned Kenyans took to social media to raise an alarm claiming that the critic, whose real identity remains anonymous and is only known by their X handle @Goddie_Ke, has been missing for nearly two weeks.
Netizens have urged LSK and other human rights groups to intervene and help locate Goddie, ensuring their safe return.
In a post on X on Sunday, March 30, 2025, Odhiambo broke her silence on the issue, calling on Goddie’s family to reach out directly to LSK for assistance.
“The family can directly reach out so we can get full facts,” Odhiambo wrote.

According to online reports, Goddie was abducted for speaking out against a local creamery, accusing it of selling milk contaminated with harmful toxins.
Goddie_Ke had been active on the platform daily until Friday, March 21, when they suddenly went silent.
On their X profile, Goddie describes themselves as a digital media strategist and news enthusiast dedicated to amplifying the voices of the unheard. Their account boasts 741.9K followers and follows 5,024 users.
In recent months, LSK has played a crucial role in tracing missing activists and providing legal representation for those prosecuted.
The organization was instrumental in securing the release of government critics Bernard Kavuli, Billy Mwangi, Peter Muteti, cartoonist Kibet Bull, and Rony Kiplang’at, all of whom were abducted in December 2024.
The five were eventually freed in January 2025 after nearly a month in captivity, during which they reportedly endured both physical and psychological torture.
The disappearance of Goddie_Ke comes amidst growing concerns about shrinking civic space and increasing threats against government critics in Kenya.
The case has reignited public debate on the safety of journalists and activists in the country and the need for stronger measures to protect freedom of expression.
