The Kenya Universities and College Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced that form four leavers who sat for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) in 2024 can now enroll in their preferred colleges.

In a statement shared via their official social media pages, KUCCPS said the placement portal was open for 21 days starting Friday, January 24, 2025, to Friday, February 14, 2025.

This, according to KUCCPS CEO Agnes Wahome, is to allow students enrolling at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVETs) for the March intake to apply on time.

Wahome explained that the latest update is part of the institution’s new method of enhancing prompt transition to colleges.

“The placement service has for the first time adopted a phased application process, starting with Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and the TVET colleges to allow students enrolling for the March intake to apply on time. The portal will remain open for 21 days to be closed on 14th February 2025.

“Universities and Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) normally have their intakes later in the year while KMTC and TVETs admit theirs in January. March and May, hence the need to have a phased application process to enable students to transition to colleges promptly,” Wahome said.

KUCCPs also announced that Form Four leavers who sat their KCSE between 2000 and 2024 can apply for the slots.

“Applications for degree programmes and TTCs will follow thereafter at dates that will be announced,” KUCCPS added.

Candidates who will re-sit their KCSE this year will be allowed to apply for the KMTC and TVET programmes using their improved grades for the September intake.

Students have been advised to apply through the KUCCPS portal and be vigilant to avoid falling victim to online fraudsters.

The placement board further assured students that their officers will be readily available to offer support to guide students and support applicants in designated colleges in all 47 counties.

Students can also seek help at Huduma Centres countrywide.
