21st August, 2019 06:06 PM

Kenya has beaten Djibouti to become the continent’s in the selection of a member of the powerful United Nation’s Security Council.
Kenya is set to become a non-permanent member of the security council in June.
“We’re now Africa’s choice,” Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Macharia Kamau said by phone to Bloomberg.com after the African Union voted Wednesday in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
To take the seat, Kenya needs at least two thirds support from the UN.
