Homa Bay County residents have taken to the streets in a show of grief following the death of former Prime Minister and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, Raila Odinga.

Carrying green twigs and leaving behind their daily routines, residents were seen walking in large groups, expressing their sorrow at the loss. Some could be heard shouting “Baba,”

The mood of mourning extended to educational institutions, with students at Tom Mboya University joining the country in grief.

In videos seen by K24 Digital, students were captured leaving their classes, crying and shouting as they processed the news. Classes were halted as a mark of respect for the late political icon.
