The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a weather advisory warning that heavy rainfall will persist across multiple regions of the country from March 25 to March 29, 2025.

According to the latest five-day weather forecast, various parts of Kenya will experience intensified downpours, with some areas in the Nairobi Metropolitan expected to receive over 30mm of rainfall within a 24-hour period.

“Rainfall is expected to continue over several parts of the country,” the forecast reads.

The department has urged Kenyans to remain vigilant, as the ongoing heavy rainfall could lead to flooding, which may disrupt transport and daily activities.

The forecast indicates that regions in western Kenya, the Rift Valley, parts of central Kenya, and Nairobi will experience significant rainfall during this period.

Coastal areas and sections of northeastern Kenya are also expected to receive intermittent heavy showers.

“Isolated heavy rainfall events are likely to occur over some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands, the Coast, North-eastern and North-western Kenya,” the advisory states.
