Gachagua hails DCP youth leaders, says his mentorship is paying off
Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) Rigathi Gachagua has lauded the energy and impact of youthful leaders he has been mentoring, describing their growing influence as tangible proof that his guidance is bearing fruit.
In a statement shared via his official X account on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Gachagua thanked his team members for their active participation during events in Limuru town, celebrating their dedication to grassroots mobilisation and civic engagement.
The former deputy president expressed pride in the progress of young DCP leaders, adding that they have risen to assume leadership roles within the party.
In addition, Gachagua said he feels confident in stepping back and focusing his efforts abroad, reassured that the future of leadership in Kenya is in capable hands.

“A big thank you to our team members for your active participation in Limuru town, Kiambu County. Your dedication and engagement truly make a difference. I am glad that my mentorship efforts to nurture young leaders have started to bear fruit,” Gachagua said.
“My boys and girls have come of age, and I couldn’t be more proud. As a leader, I am very happy and confident, knowing that our young leaders have stepped up and taken charge. I can comfortably stay here in the States, assured that the future of our leadership is in good hands. Together, we are building a stronger, brighter Kenya.”
Gachagua has consistently framed youth mentorship as a key pillar of his political strategy.
DCP rally
While Gachagua continues his engagement in the United States, leaders and members of the DCP have ramped up grassroots outreach across the Central region to sustain momentum and raise the party’s profile.
Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala, alongside Senators John Methu of Nyandarua and Karung’o Thang’wa of Kiambu County, has led a series of rallies in Gachagua’s stead. These were part of the wider strategy to maintain public engagement and solidify the party’s presence in Gachagua’s absence.

On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Malala led a delegation and held a public engagement in Limuru, Kiambu County.
Earlier, on Sunday, July 20, Malala and other DCP officials faced tear gas and roadblocks en route to Subukia in Nakuru County, where they had planned a rally with local residents.
