Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has announced that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will back United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate David Ndakwa in the upcoming Malava parliamentary by-election scheduled for November 27, 2025.

“We have decided to support David Ndakwa as part of a broad-based approach to governance. Our focus is on service delivery and continuing the projects initiated by the late Hon. Malulu,” Barasa said.

He clarified that ODM’s endorsement is not a betrayal of party principles but a strategic move to ensure effective leadership in the constituency. “This is about delivering results for the residents, not political rivalry,” he added.

“Nguvu zetu zote tutaweka hapa ilituakikishe watu wa Malava wamemchagua mweshimiwa ndakwa”Barasa said.

Barasa urged residents to focus on leadership and development rather than partisan battles, highlighting the potential for the constituency to benefit from broad-based governance.
