Blackout to hit parts of 4 counties on Thursday, November 27 – Kenya Power

Kenya Power has announced that several areas across Nairobi, Kajiado, Mombasa, and Kwale counties will experience planned power outages on Thursday, November 27, 2025, as the company carries out maintenance works on its electricity network.

In a notice issued on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the utility company informed customers to prepare for the interruptions, which will run for several hours depending on the location.

“Good afternoon, please be advised that the following areas will be on planned maintenance tomorrow, Thursday, 27.11.2025,” Kenya Power wrote.

In Nairobi, the interruption will mainly affect parts of Lang’ata, where power will be switched off from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Key establishments and residential areas listed include Muiri Lane, Panda Mart, Galleria Mall, KWS Headquarters, Langata Barracks, Jambo Estate, KRA Langata offices, Shree Cutch Samaj, Tamarind Hotel, Daisy Park, Dorothy Park, West Park, CALE Infrastructure, Phenom Park, Phenom Estate, Carnivore Restaurant, Carnivore Hotel, Splash, EPCO, Purple Dot Estate and neighbouring customers.

A second outage in the capital will affect the Busia Road off Enterprise Road area, where electricity will be unavailable between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Kenya Power noted that the entire stretch of Busia Road and the surrounding consumers will be impacted.

“AREA: BUSIA ROAD OFF ENTERPRISE ROAD DATE: Thursday 27.11.2025 TIME: 9.00 Α.Μ. – 3.00 Ρ.Μ. Whole of Busia Rd & adjacent customers,” Kenya Power wrote.

In Kajiado County, residents and businesses in parts of Amboseli and Isara will also be without electricity on Thursday.

The outage, scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will affect several lodges and commercial premises, including Jesbriquette, Sopa Lodge, Ngong Veg, AA Lodge, Mada Hotel, Kibo Safari, and social institutions such as Ngong Narok Primary School. Additional affected areas include Omra, Mbirikani, sections of Simba Cement and nearby customers.

“PARTS OF KAJIADO COUNTY AREA: AMBOSELI, ISARA DATE: Thursday 27.11.2025 TIME: 9.00 Α.Μ. – 5.00 Ρ.Μ. Jesbriquette, Sopa Lodge, Ngong Veg, AA Lodge, Mada Hotel, Kibo Safari, Ngong Narok Pri, Omra, Mbirikani, Parts of Simba Cement & adjacent customers,” Kenya Power added.

The Coast region will also be impacted, with several areas in Mombasa County expected to be off the grid during the maintenance window.

Kenya Power indicated that parts of Kwashibu Road and Mwembe Tayari will be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Among the premises listed are Germany Institute Mombasa, Polana Suite, the Public Health Department, Huseini Building, Cream Inn, Pwani Dishes, Ledco Ltd, Jebotel, Suki Electronics, Maskani Bar and Restaurant, the Mwembe Tayari Market (Soko la Papa), KFA, Eastern Music Shop, King Style Uniform Centre, the Chief’s Office Mwembe and other adjacent customers.

In Kwale County, electricity users in Tiwi will equally experience a full-day outage. Power will be unavailable from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting institutions such as Dia Chisadze Primary School, Coast Water Offices and surrounding homes and businesses.
