Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino has been named the best MP in the latest survey conducted by Politrack.

He was awarded in an event dubbed Politrack Star Leaders Awards held on Friday, March 28, 2025. The event which attracted various leaders drawn from the Senate, the county, National Assembly, and the Cabinet, aims at celebrating and acknowledging outstanding leadership and performance across various fields of governance in Kenya.

Mavoko MP Patrick Makau was named the third best MP in the country, while his Lang’ata counterpart, Phelix Odiwuor popularly known as Jalang’o followed him at the fourth position in Nairobi and 17th countrywide.

The recently appointed Public Service, Human Capital Development, and Special Programmes Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku was also recognised as the fourth best MP during his stint as Mbeere North MP.

Others awarded include Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, her Eldas counterpart Adan Keynan, and Matungulu MP Stephen Mule.

On governorship, a section of county heads were acknowledged for their efforts in delivering their mandated roles. At the front was Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu who was named as the best governor, he was followed by his Homa Bay counterpart Gladys Wanga.

Ahmed Abdullahi (Wajir) was named third best governor tying with his Kirinyaga counterpart Anne Waiguru.

Also awarded are Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo, Jonathan Bii (Uasin Gishu) and his Mandera counterpart Adan Khalif.

On senators, Kisumu’s Tom Ojienda was named the best senator, he was trailed by his Migori counterpart Eddie Oketch and Kisii’s Richard Onyonka.

CSs were also recognised in the awards with Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi topping the list. He was trailed by his tourism counterpart Rebecca Miano, who was named as second best CS.

Water CS Eric Mugaa came in third and Lands CS Alice Wahome came in fourth position.

Principal Secretary Julius Bitok who was recently moved to the education sector was named best PS during his stint at the Immigration and Citizen Services. He was followed by PS Alex Wachira who came in second, PS Mary Muthoni came in third position.
