Nairobi among 6 counties scheduled to experience blackout on Tuesday

Kenya Power and Lighting Company has announced a blackout that will partially affect six counties on Tuesday, September 2, 2024.
Among the counties that will be affected include Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, Kisii, Murang’a and Kiambu.
“The listed areas will be affected by planned power maintenance tomorrow (03.09.2024),” Kenya Power stated.
In Nairobi, the blackout which will start at 9:00 am and end at 5:00 pm will affect part of General Mathenge Drive, Eldama Ravine, Mpaka Road, Suswa Road and adjacent customers.
In Nakuru, the blackout which runs from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm will affect Soilo, Kabarak University, Kabarnet Ravine Daily, Oloika Hotel, Rafiki, Rawhide, Summit Borehole and adjacent customers.
In Kisumu, the blackout is scheduled to start at 8:30 and end at 5:00 pm affecting Obambo Concrete Firm and all quarries, Holo Market, Kombewa Market, Kombewa Hospital, KEMRI Kombewa, Wangarot Market, Kolenyo Market, Akado Market, Riat Market, Rata Market and adjacent customers.
The outage will also affect Obambo Market, Alabama, Galore Hotel, Ngege Beach, Osiri, Ogal Beach, all quarries connected through Ober Kamoth and adjacent customers.
In Kisii, the outage will be experienced between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.
It will affect Ufanisi Hotel, Storm Hotel, Ram Hospital, Kisii Central Police Station, Kisii Huduma, KTRH, Kisii County Assembly, Kisii Safaricom Office, Kisii Blood Bank, Serengeri, Catholic Church, Postbank, KCB Bank, Co-op Bank, KRA, Family Bank Kisii Offices and adjacent customers.
The outage in Murang’a will start at 9.00 and end at 5.00 pm affecting Githingiri, Thika Greens, Sunstar Hotel, Sun-Paper Ltd, Bellafam Ltd, Whitestone Ltd, Delview, Sailors Hotel, KARLO and adjacent customers.
In Kiambu, the outage will start at 9:00 am and end at 5.00 pm affecting Kinoo 87, Kinoo Market, Part of Muthiga, Gaitumbi, Baraniki and adjacent customers.
